08 - 24 square wonton wrappers
09 - Water for sealing

→ For Serving

10 - Sweet chili sauce or soy sauce for dipping
11 - Fresh chives or coriander, chopped

# How to Make It:

01 - In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, chopped spring onions, minced garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and salt. Mix until smooth and well combined.
02 - Place a wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Spoon approximately 1 teaspoon of filling into the center of each wrapper.
03 - Dip your fingertip in water and moisten the edges of the wrapper. Fold into a triangle, pressing out any air and sealing the edges tightly.
04 - Optionally, bring the two bottom corners of the triangle together and seal with a small amount of water to form the traditional wonton shape.
05 - Repeat the filling and folding process with the remaining wrappers and filling.
06 - Preheat your air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes.
07 - Lightly spray or brush the wontons with oil. Arrange in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary.
08 - Air fry for 7 to 8 minutes, turning halfway through cooking, until golden and crispy.
09 - Transfer wontons to a serving plate and serve hot with sweet chili sauce or your preferred dipping sauce.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • They're ready in under 35 minutes, which means you can impress people without spending your whole evening in the kitchen.
  • The cream cheese filling stays wonderfully creamy inside while the wrapper shatters between your teeth, creating this perfect textural contrast.
  • Air frying cuts the oil dramatically, so you feel less guilty reaching for that fourth wonton.
02 -
  • Don't overfill the wontons or they'll burst open during frying and leak filling everywhere, which I learned the hard way on my second attempt.
  • Make sure your wonton wrappers are genuinely sealed at the edges, pressing firmly with your fingers so they don't spring open in the air fryer.
  • These are best eaten within a few minutes of cooking because they lose their crispiness quickly as they cool, so time your frying accordingly.
03 -
  • Keep a damp paper towel draped over your unused wonton wrappers so they stay pliable and don't dry out and crack while you're working.
  • If you're making a big batch, lay out all your wrappers first and spoon the filling into each one before you start folding, which makes the whole process feel more efficient and less chaotic.
